Bus Shelter Lighting

Sun In One Solar Bus Shelter

It provides Safe feeling for Riders and proper lighting helps the bus drivers safety see at night if there are riders at the stop to slow down in safe manor.

The Run time of the lighting period can be designed subject to project requirements.
Nightly run time is subject to lamp power selection, quantity of lamps per system, solar panel selection, and battery capacity selection for a given location.
Please consult with our engineers for specific component recommendations..

You want the light to be down light in the roof of the structure because it reduces the glare and it forces the light down on to the rider so that the bus driver can easy see the stop and not have any glare from the light in their eyes.

Charge Control System:

MPPT charge controller which automatically controls the solar panel power, battery charging protecting the battery from over discharging and running the lighting function and operation.
Suninone’ s MPPT controller will improve energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers.

Our MPPT Controller offers Bluetooth Controls as standard and comes with full programmability of load output: dusk to dawn, Controller allows for programing mode which lets the user define the lighting run time, and comes with integrated diming (all standard features).

Solar Bus Shelter

Pre-programmed software for load output, dusk to dawn lighting, single timed lighting, dual timed lighting, dimming option and the ability of interfacing with motion detection, where required.

Lighting control features come preprogramed at dusk to dawn unless you pick our 8 hour kits, or on at dusk for X amount of hours then off, or on at dusk for X amount of hours, then off, then back on again for X amount of hours before dawn.

The dimming option can be used in conjunction with motion activation (where applicable). We do not prefer Motion Dimming systems we think a well lite structure all the time during hours of use is a safer area then Motion system but we do have them with Dimming and the dimming can be any percentage from 0-100%.
Our controller supports real time data monitoring, 30 day performance history, and user programmability from Apple or Android smartphones, tablets, etc. Use of this feature requires the standard MPPT Bluetooth technology. For use with our Free Life Time Support you can send us your data from your phone to help you adjust your system to help you have it work the way you want to work.
Operating temperature is -22 deg. F (-30 deg. C) to 140 deg. F (+60 deg. C).

Dimming option (optional and must be stated at time of ordering) allows the lighting to dim at any time during the illumination time.

Racking

The preference of the system is based on getting the solar panel at the best angle to the sun to generate the most power you can with the smallest foot print.  The Racking helps us with that we use Aluminum racking with stainless steel hardware. We select the best racking for the client request understanding the less the panel is facing the sun with the best angle the bigger the solar panel needs to be to get the same successful result.

We use Aluminum Side of Pole racking that mounts to a pole.

Top of Pole racking that mounts to the top of the pole and comes in 2, 2.375 or 4 inch sizes.

Roof mount racking that is just mounted directly to the roof and is at the angle of the roof and we need to know what that angle is because additional solar panels

Roof mount racking with adjustable back legs to give the system the best angle.

Mounting feet for standing seem roofs and other roofs are available.

Mounting on the Bus Structure or a Pole Mounted system:

Solar Bus Structure
Bus Shelter Lighting

The Placement for the systems is based on the best performance to the sun so there are times when you can have the solar panel flat to the roof or at a 45 degree angel or Mounted on a pole. This can be because of shading from trees, structures or the fact that the road may be north south and your structure needs there is not enough room to mount it on the end of the structure. Also with newer structures you may not have a roof to put it on you may have an acrylic top which does not let you mount a panel on it and pole mount may be best.

Installation:

Plug and Pay. All connections are simple and quick.
Mounting Racking are included to allow the solar panel to attach to a vertical or horizontal surface but side of pole is standard or adjustable leg roof mount.

Easy to install into almost any type of Bus Shelter, mail shelter, Picnic pavilion, canopy, or car port.

The solar panel must be installed in a location where it can receive full direct sunshine. It needs full sun from 9 am  to 3pm or the system design must be modified and this is on the client to provide the clear sunlight on the panel for that window and usually set facing South at an 40 degree angle is best in US and Canada (where adjustment options allow). The solar panel must not be installed in a shaded or partly shaded location and never in wooded area. The standard specifications of the system (particularly the solar panel Wattage and battery capacity) may need to be adjusted and that needs to be done before ordering. An example is some clients want the solar panel to be flat to the roof you need to understand you can need up to 50% more solar for the same system to handle the same power needs at a 45 degree size panel to produce the same power.

The system sizing and components are determined by your geographic location, Angle of solar panel to solar south, power consumption (LED Wattage) and the total amount of hours of illumination time required. Such changes to the standard specifications may increase or decrease the cost shown. Please contact us for more information or assistance we are here to help you. The illumination time is estimated and subject to various factors including (but not limited to) shading, geographic location, seasons, temperature, weather conditions & location of product etc. The illumination time of most solar lights can reduce during winter months when the weather is poor and the days are shorter. During this time insolation hours decrease accordingly. Shorter illumination time due to one or more of the above factors does not define the product as being ‘defective’ or ‘not as described’. All solar lights must be used in a completely dark location at night time otherwise they may not illuminate. Nearby strong lighting sources or ambient lighting may affect the operation of a solar light. This does not define the product as being ‘defective’ or ‘not as described’. Please note, if you do not install or use this product for several months the battery may discharge naturally on its own. By allowing a battery to deep discharge it may cause irreversible damage as the battery may then lose the ability to recharge or hold a full charge. Although unlikely, we reserve the right to supply this product with any minor alterations or minor changes to the specifications (shown above by text description or by photographs) due to different supplies or product batches received, incorporating such product changes made by the manufacturer, without further notice. Descriptions, specifications and photographs are updated regularly but may not be current when minor changes to a product have only recently been made.

WHAT IS CRI?

CRI is a measure of a lights sources ability to show objects colors “realistically or naturally” compared with their true color or Sunlight. High CRI lights also put off professional level of color all the time, this used to be reserved just for professional photographers or Art galleries.

Whether you’re an artistic person or not, our eyes are sensitive to light quality and color. A red shirt lit directly with noontime sunlight will render much different than if lit under a fluorescent bathroom light. The Higher CRI of our LED it will help identify objects with the better light.
CRI

WHY IS THE SUN-IN-ONE LED WITH A 95+ CRI IMPORTANT TO YOU?

– Displays all colors in almost natural light, making it easier to distinguish slight shades of colors and tones

– See the true color of meats, fruits, and vegetables in the grocery display case

– Enhances skin tone, hues, and textures, making rooms and products in them look their best – converting foot traffic into sales

– Reduces eye strain in the office, workplace or at school, increasing productivity and safety

– Easier to distinguish colors in security cameras

– Less light distortion at night when driving and the colors you are seeing a closer to real colors that could decrease your reaction time while driving.

WHAT IS CRI AND WHY YOU WANT AN LED WITH A HIGH CRI?

Color Rendering Index, commonly referred to as CRI, is a method we can use to measure how color looks to the human eyes, depending on the light source as compared to the sun. The CRI provides a scale of values up to 100, with 100 being the best color rendering light quality and a value below zero representing very poor color rendering.

When a light has a CRI of 100, it means that there is no difference in color rendition between the light and the reference light (the sun). Likewise, a CRI of 75 means that the light bulb renders a 75% replication of the visible colors that the sun shows, given that both lights have the same color temperature. That is the cri of the average streetlight.  Our eyes are sensitive to light quality and color. The higher the CRI value, the more accurate the colors will be.
